Default Fuel Tank Two Way Valve

Well, after doing a ton of testing and buying various tool, I found out that the solenoid that opens/closes the two way valve under the fuel tank is bad. I think I'm gonna have to get this one from the stealership as acuraautomotiveparts.org doesn't have it listed. Why do I think this is going to cost an arm and a leg? :wtc:

How did this all come about? Well, it started with a CEL coming on one day while cruising. I reset it just to make sure it wasn't funky gas or something. It came on again about 2 days later. I ran the code this time and came up with a code 90 - "Evaporative Emission Control System leak detected in the fuel tank area". Normally this means a loose or bad gas cap. I replaced that as it seemed the most logical and cheapest thing to do. It solved it for about a week, but the light came back on. I wiggled connections and tapped on solenoids to make sure nothing was sticky or that any hoses were torn. Well, today I bought a battery charger (twelve volt source) and a vacuum gage/break bleeder kit. I tested the purge solenoid and that checked out ok. It clicks when I but 12 volts across it. Then I climbed under the car and checked the two way valve. All vacuum tests came out ok on that and my last test was to check the solenoid. An ohm meter reading came back as the solenoid being shorted out and a 12 volt test verified. There was no clicking, only sparks. Not good.

So, if anyone wants to know about the Evaporative Emission Control System, let me know. I'm pretty familiar with it now. h:

Also, if anyone knows how much these soleniod/two way valves are from the dealer, let me know. If my car only had 6000 fewer miles on it, it would be covered under warranty.

BTW, it's a 2001 Integra GSR.

FYI:

Called the dealer this morning. The solenoid is about $75. Valve is available on acuraautomotiveparts.org for around $50.
That is all.

Hi Hondaman, I was wondering if you could be more descriptive with the solenoid/two way valve. I am having the same problem with the CEL90 and have so far just replaced the gas cap. Mine is an 01 Integra as well. Thanks for any help you can give me...ie tools required, location specific.
