Installing the Comptech tie/sway bar combo in my car was one of the best bang for the buck upgrades I've ever done. Just, until you get used to it, keep it on medium tension. The high can snap the car around if you're not careful.

Wouldn't just upgrading the sway bar with an OEM sway bar be cheaper?

:werd:

I've done a 180 degree tailspin with the swaybar on the stiffest setting. I learned to take it easy around turns pretty damn quick.

Well yeah, but as you can see some of us don't cheap out when it comes to swaybars. Subframe tearout isn't fun.

Yes, but as a non-Type R owner you must take care to use some sort of subframe reinforcement kit when mounting the Type R swaybar on your car or run the risk of subframe tearout.

I have a GS with a Type R rear swaybar. I chose the BEAKS subframe reinforcement kit, but have sonce decided the Comptech piece is better. I recently bought the Comptech tiebar/subframe reinforcement piece and will be installing it with my OEM Type R swaybar. I will also have to use part of the BEAKS kit because during the initial install of the Type R swaybar I had to remove the tackwelded nuts that the original OEM swaybar mounts screw in to. So, since there are no tackwelded nuts currently in use on my swaybar, I will have to use the back side of the BEAKS kit when mounting my swaybar to the Comptech piece.

Heck yeah. I only put it on the stiffest setting after putting 11/4 springs on. With the stiffest setting of the sway bar with those springs, it's only a smidgen tailhappy past neutral. I'd hate to think how unpredicatble it would be on stock springs.

If any LS owners want a rear GS-R swaybar and a GS-R front strut bar, I got both in excellent condition for cheap. :bigok: PM me with offers

I have a comptech swaybar and the difference is amazing. The car no longer leans while turning. It was a much better upgrade than most other suspension work.

I don't imagine just a tie bar would do much at all. It keeps the rear suspension tighter but you still get a good amount of body lean because of the stock sway bar.
