Deciding which intake to get
I just bought a Skunk2 intake manifold for my 96 GSR and got it installed at Hookups. The mechanic told me that I need to get a new type r intake for my car because my AEM CAI would not fit anymore. If this is true what intake should I get for a type r? Also is a short ram better or a CAI? Thanks for the help.
better? no, but save u a ton of space. I got the big slutty V2 and that thing just eats room, its doing good fo now, but minght have to face space problems in the future/
but it does sound sweet. :goodjob:

wait...u have a gs-r, and u bought an intake manifold for it, shouldnt it fit like a gs-r manifold? i thot it was car specific? i dunno a whole lot about this stuff, thatz y im askin before i buy, i dont mean to sound like an ass or anything, im seriously wondering. what are u using for an intake right now then? or is ur car still at the shop? i have an AEM CAI on my stock manifold, and im planning on buying a new intake manifold. did u buy ur manifold that was made for a type r?
the manifold on the gsr is different from the manifold of other teg models cuz i think it fits in a funny way with the throttle body.
94-2000 has the same manifold for model specific integras

the skunk2 manifold was modeled after the itr manifold. so it's basically the same thing as an itr i/m with a flange that fits the gsr head. hence the tb being in the same position as if it were an itr engine.
