Default need extra info on turbos

i drive a 2000 gsr and i plan on turbo charging it at some point, but turbos cost a shit load of money unless i can find a deal, and i am broke as a joke right now. However my question is what would happen if i got a turbo exhaust for my car, although it didnt have a turbo in it, in hopes of putting the turbo in the future. is it a stupid idea? if it is what would happen if i got like a RS-R exhaust and then put a turbp in my car, would a turbo destroy a non-turbo exhaust?

i wouldnt even bother buying it if you aren't going to use it in the future.. saves money. plus, you know your goal.. just piece it all together and keep your car stock for now.. doing it all at once is prob the best bet imo.

turbo's like big exhausts. 2.5" or 3" depending on how much you plan to boost. putting an exhaust this big on an otherwise stock engine is going to kill your low end. my brother had a full 2.5'' exhaust on his gsr from the header back and it didnt start to pull till around 5k. on the otherhand, a small exhaust like an rs*r is going to hinder performance if you do get a turbo.

and dont put a turbo manifold on there if you dont have a turbo, thats an even worse idea.

im pretty sure a turbo man wouldnt bold up to the exhaust because the size and where the position of the bolts are. and u know u can buy the parts and not HAVE them on till u get the rest of the kit, and callin us names and cursing is not the best way to get results. just save your money and dont be stupid and buy a ebay kit, but if u do video tape it when it fails and post it so i can get a good laugh

he was just kidding. calm down. Just piece your turbo together and be patient. mine as well do everything the right way, which will take a longer time, then mess up because you just want equipment on your car.
