i have ls/vtec. i am about to buy a greddy t3/t4 turbo kit from my friend. it is brand new. still in the box. with the intercooler. he wants $800 for it. good deal or what? what are the pros and cons of a turbo? will be a daily driver and plan on getting hondata before engauging the turbo.
any replys would be greatly app.

greddy kits do not come with a t3/t4. for $800 thats a steal. :squint:

o. well the turbo is in a box that has a factory seal that isnt broken. so i dont know but yeh all of it is only $800.

Even if they don't come with T3/T4, which they don't, it would be a steal. Sounds too good to be true....

my ls/vtec was done by the previous owner. i dont know what internals it has but i have had it up to 8600rpm a few times. does this mean that it was done right or it is just a time bomb waiting to go off. i want to know that i have a good motor before i go in and get a turbo.

uhhh if you dont know what was done to the internals i would not take it up that high again. for all we know it could have a 'chipped' ecu with a raised rev limit with a stock bottom end. :nono:

yeh i am pretty sure it is chipped. vtec kicks in at 4500-4600rpm

It doesn't matter if it is chipped or not. You need to know if the bottom end is stock because taking it above the LS redline without proper bottom end reinforcement will blow that motor up sooner or later....

what do i look for. do i pull the oil pan off and look for numbers or what?
