Have you ever heard of B18B1's blowing up?

Have you ever heard of B18B1's blowing up, with a basic NA setup I/H/E? Assuming it was within redline of 6900 rpm, oil level/quality (with 3k) was where it should be, and if nothing foreign got sucked in?

No

if it aint nos or forced induction, dont worry about blowing your motor up unless your really.... REALLY LEAN.. which u can never but if u run the proper ecu.

You wouldn't be lean with just bolt ons. The only time I have heard of bolt on motors blowing is when contaminants get in the motor/oil and spin bearings...or when people get a sweet ECU chip and try to rev the thing to 8 grand.

not to destroy the thread but i love the avatar, and you are right. "blowing up" a engine is at the fault of the driver ...most... of the time. (or mechanic) unless as you said a spun bearing or bent valve locking the engine up etc...

yeah...by money shifting :D

lilgrasshopper Apr 23, 2005 05:51 AM

I shift at 8k alot of times. I thought it redlines at 8200 rpm?

a2k Apr 23, 2005 08:23 AM

lilgrasshopper Apr 23, 2005 01:32 PM
