help me get my secondaries!
Ok, here's the deal. I bought my '94 GSR about 6 months ago from a really shady guy. For some reason, he took off some of the necessary equipment that allows my secondary butterflies to open at 5800 rpm. Instead, they are open all the time. So my question is this: Looking at this picture, what all do I need to do get my secondaries going again? Do I have to take off the intake manifold to get all this done? I just got a spare GSR IM from a buddy so I have the dashpot off that to use. But what else do I need? Note the circled area:

It looks like you just need the dashpot and an available vacuum hose. I don't think you need to take the manifold off either. From the outside, it looks like a fairly simple bolt-on the dashpot job, but he might have jacked something up inside.
I'll bet your torque really sucks now. :chuckles:

Oh man, LT, that sucks! As for my manifold, I am assuming he didn't ever take it off and that he just removed the vacuum line and the dashpot. So I am hoping the butterflies are still intact. Where does the vacuum line run after it comes off the dashpot? Also, I was considering the Skunk2 IM, but I heard it's kinda hard to put on there...
I mean, I guess the guy I bought the car from was trying to make it more like a Type R or something cause it had Type R cams, vtec didn't engage until 5800 (because of the Skunk2 ECU) and his "single stage" manifold that he rigged up. That guy sucks. He was so full of :bs: it's not even funny...

if you want to see if your secondaries are still intact...turn that spring joint and you should hear them opening and closing.
DEEP under the intake manifold there is a vacuum connection with a purge valve. this is what the vacuum line connects to.

Well... since there are ITR cams are already in the car, I would consider an ITR manifold or the Skunk2 IM. h:

If you still have those cams and ECU, I'd just go with a Blox or Skunk2 manifold, you'll ned to get an ITR throttle cable.
