Well for starters you still have the stock catalytic converter which is bottlenecking your exhaust system. With the minor bolt ons that you have I doubt you will see much of a gain with an aftermarket intake manifold. If the intake manifold was combined with a high flow cat, a better IM gasket and cams then we have a whole different story here.

I think products made by OBX are complete crap, that's just my opinion though.

First of all, if you all think OBX is crap then you must also think that Greddy is crap too right???

You should be surprised to here that almost every OBX product is actually re-baged products from leading performance companies. FYI the Turbo kit that OBX offered was actually the Greddy Bolt on Turbo kit (even down to the point where it came with the Greddy Blue Box) but at a fraction of the cost.

OBX also recently came out with a LSD that looked identical to that of the Quafie and it too also comes with a LIFETIME WARRANTY just like Quafie but at a cost of under $400 compared to Quafies $900+

OBX also has a series of Cams, I think I heard they are supplied by BuddyClub or Skunk2...i forgot *scratches head* So really I wouldn't be surprised to hear that that OBX Intake manifold is actually a re-baged Skunk2 manifold.

Bottom line is that OBX USED to be only a cheap bolt-on performance company, but in the past year they have actually stepped it up quality and performance wise even if they are re-badged products or not.

Looks identical and IS identical are two completely different things. The OBX stainless turbo manifolds are notorious for cracking. The LSD LOOKS identical, but isn't exactly identical. I bet if you stress tested and failure tested the parts over time, they'd come up short. I also bet that if you put their manifold on a flow bench, it wouldn't flow as well either.

Actually, I think for all their faults, those manifolds actually flow pretty well. The ports could be matched and the collector could use some work however.

But your post is on the money. While the LSD comes with a lifetime warranty and LOOKS like a Quaife, it certainly isnt. They definitely have stepped their game up from a marketing perspective (in terms of offering low price parts that people actually use rather than just battery tie downs and short rams), but in terms of their quality, I still think theyre the same old OBX. Which isnt anything *terrible* to begin with, theyre just a run of the mill parts company, nothing more.

Ive never seen an OBX "turbo kit" that was the same as a Greddy kit, either. I dont pay *too* much attention to their lineup however, so I could be wrong, but I find that hard to swallow.
