i installed my stainless brake lines...
yesterday i spent my day in the garage, doin a bunch of stuff to get my car ready for driving again....
among the projects was installing braided SS lines....
after driving my car last nite and today, i gotta wonder what the hype is all about? :dunno: doesnt feel any different to me.

the only time i see anyone would need SS brake lines is if you would be racing on a track for a looooong period of time.
how much did they set you back, james?

Brake pedal might be a little firmer, that's about it. I didn't choose to get any when I did my brakes because it wasn't worth it to me. Maybe if the car was a track rat...

Those brake lines would come in VERY handy on a track... but do you track race??? Otherwise they are utterly useless on these beautifully straight American roads...

like 105 shipped from Irotors on ebay.
i dont track race but i was looking for better brake respons.
the adirondack back roads can be a lot of fun even within the law if your car is resposive enough.

you would have to be on those back roads driving hard for like 20 full minutes before they came into play, not to burst your bubble. You go stainless steel weave because they don't expand, which means you keep consistent brake pressure even after the brakes and fluid heat up.... but idk that they would help with response so much...likely could have just bled the system to acheive that.

it's my D in a B
The whole point is that you don't notice anything... The only time they opperate differently from stock lines is when brake fluid temps get really high. In that case, stock lines expand, enducing brake fade and mushy pedal. The SS lines don't expand, and thus your braking performance doesn't go down the shitter with heat.
I've noticed the difference in some pretty serious driving scenarios, but normally, you don't notice a thing, which is exactly how they're supposed to work.

there was nothing wrong with my old lines, bleeding wouldnt have made a change.
the only reason i felt inclined to replace them is because they are hyped up as a way to increase braking response.
i might get some lighter wheels if i was that serious about braking performance, im not really i like the way my LS mesh looks

I like the way LS mesh rims look to. I have the LS rims for the winter months and Rotas for spring/summer.
You had to be serious in improving brake response if you purchased SS brake lines.
Get some spoon calipers yo, ha ha jk.
