Default strange/fast idle, please help

My timing belt broke in my 91 teg not too long ago and sent the valves straight to hell. I took the head off and had it rebuilt with new valves. I just got finished putting the head on and re-installing all of the belts. Anyway, I got it running, and she runs like a champ!

The only thing is that she is idling a little funny. First, at normal engine temp, it would idle about 1250 rpm's. I think this is a bit fast, but I am not sure. Second, every now and again when I put the clutch in and let it idle, it will sort of bounce down to around 900rpm's for a second and then bounce back up to 1250rpm. At one point it bounced like 3 times in a row, one right after the other. Eventually it will "settle" and stay at around 1250 rpm's. Do any of you have any idea why it's doing this? Should I try and lower the idle speed? The ECU was disconnected from the battery for the couple of weeks it took to complete this project so I'm sure it was completely reset. Could it just be re-learning the car and driving? Any help would be appreciated.
