Default Need help with GSR PLEASE!!!!

Ok, well i finally got a GSR today. I bought a 98 teg Gsr with 76k on it for only $7300. I thought it was pretty good. I love the car, so far no real troubles.

There is 1 thing that is concerning me. When we got there the guy told us the gas gauge has not worked in a long time. Well thats not that bad because he said he usually goes by the trip odometer and when he gets to about 200-250miles he fills up. So after we bought it i drove to the gas station to fill it up....and damn $2.50 per gallon premium . Anyway reset the trip odometer. 53miles on my way home the odometer and the trip odometer stopped working completely. They both just froze. So i drove home, went back out later, reset the trip to see if it would free up, after 10 miles it froze again.
Now the bad thing is the car i just bought with 77k prob has close to 100k since the odometer works when it wants Wither way i love the car and for now its good "knock on wood"

So my question is, any one have any idea at all how to fix this???? We are going to change oil tomorrow and clean the intake filter, and pull the gauge cluster. But anyone else have this, i really want my odometer and gas gauge to work

well its electronically controlled....pull the gauge cluster out and check the harnesses in the back for any loose connections.

Yeah that's normal. Umm make sure your speedo sensor on the tranny is good that can also trigger the speedo not to work.

I would question the mileage, sounds like the gauges may have been micky moused.

Ok but its just the odometer that dosent work. My RPM gauge, temp, and Speedo all work fine. Just the gas gause reads past FULL constantly and the odometer works on and off.

Im sure its not the real mileage, but mileage was not turned back. We did do all that stuff before we bought the car. I like the car, so im going to keep it for now. I might take it to a garage and have them look at this.

are there like little gears in the cluster itself that would fail or something??

i might go to a junk yard and find a cluster just to see if that fixes the problem if not

no, my odometer mileage was correct, thanks for the free carfax!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway, after talking with my acura dealers, and my local mechanic they said that the fuel problem was the fuel gauge sending unit, well $76 later i have come to find out that that IS NOT my problem because i just spend $75 to still have my gas gauge constantly read full

So im still at a loss.

Also pulled the speed sensor, the connections were spot less, and the teeth were perfect. Im beginning to think im going to need a new gauge cluster. If per chance i get a new gauge cluster, how would this work. I know its going to be hard to find another integra with 76799 miles on the odometer. So if i get one with like 40k, or 140k, what do i do then?
