Default Broken Brake Line

Ok so my exhaust broke 2 days ago and it was so rusted on there that the bolts wouldnt come off so i cut the exhaust and my accident i cut threw a brake line i know :slap: whats the easiest way to fix this? Oh ya and its that brake line that goes behind the gas tank and all the way up to the front of the car.

my guess is that you're going to have to flare both ends of it where you cut it, then join them with a connecter, that should do the trick. oh yea and make sure you put the male connecters on both ends before you flare the lines.

Sounds like a good excuse to invest in some Stainless lines :chuckles:.

Yep he is right, about the splicing, I got a snap on kit for under a hundred bucks but I do a lot of custom work so I needed it, you might be able to find a shop that will either loan you the tools or help you out. Brake lines are a bitch, most regular repair shops dont want to touch a hardline on a car, I had to go to a race car shop (nascar style race cars) to find somebody that would help me build custom lines for the rear disks on my truck. Replacement SS lines would be the safest option IMO.

He cut one of the hard lines, not the rubber part. So SS lines won't fix it.

ya I just bought some brake line piping and im going to re-do it

h: I didn't see the words "hard line", so I assumed it was the hose that was cut.. So did Chanc, for that matter. It's important to be specific..
