Default How hard is it to drop the oil pan and put a new gasket?

Well I just got back from Goodyear to have my oil changed. (i don't like the mess) and it was brought to my attention that I have seapage. Not yet a class one leak, but the price would be 230 to repair. I thought that was a little high to change out a gasket. So I thought I would check with you guys and see if I should do that or just buy the hasket from Acura and do it my self. Thanks in advance...

gotta take off your header, then a poop load of bolts like LT said, put the new gasket on. Pretty simple.

That is about the amount I was quoted for the job. I did it myself in an hour and a half and paid $20 for the new gasket. You may also need to remove the front and rear engine stiffeners and flywheel cover to get at the last 3 bolts holding the oilpan on. The worst part is trying to get the gasket to stay in one place when you are putting the pan back on.

I hate having to move shit around to do one thing. But oh well, I'm not going to pay some chump 230 for what I can do for 20. Thanks guys,

I'd rather use hondabond than superglue, or some sort of silicone gasket maker/sealant.

I'll get either or, using superglue sounds like a good idea, but it is a household product. If I were gonna do that I would just use a real good booger.
