Default pcv system help (little black box removal)

How the **** do you remove that thing?!

Im having trouble removing the little black box thats part of the pcv system. Its located under the intake manifold. Im trying to get it out from underneath but the thing wont fall loose. Anybody have helpful tips on how to remove that thing?

And second... I need a temp fix until I can afford to replace that black box, lower pcv hose, and pcv valve. Can I just ghetto route a line from the back of the block the to IM... like bypassing the whole black box and pcv valve system? Its only for a short while.

From the service manual picture, it looks like there is one bolt holding it on at the bottom, so you would need to get underneath to unscrew it. Then you can pull it straight out of the block. There is an o-ring that is seating between the tank and block, so make sure that comes out with it.

Might I ask why you are removing the tank?

I was gonna replace the pcv but it broke in half while taking it out. Then the lower hose ripped while taking out the broken half of the pcv. Then the nipple on the box cracked while removing the lower hose. Then I poked a hole in the box while wiggling it free with a flathead. Its funny yeah but Im getting desperate here. h:

The box is unbolted. Im just having a hard time finding some clearance for it to come out. Ive tried dremeling it in half, a crow bar, hammer, pretty much everything in the tool box but the hard part is getting in there cause theres no space.

Bump for more tips. I start a new job on monday and need this car running.

Oh and I was gonna try from above by taking out the intake manifold but I stripped a nut. So Im gonna have to either remove the motor or find a way to take this piece of shit out from the bottom.

And Im not gonna lift the motor out for what was gonna be a ~$4 job. h:

AH HAH! I got the bastard thing out. Heres what it looks like after 6+ hours of shit. Anyone know how much this thing cost so I can replace it right away lol.

It took you six hours to remove one bolt and pull the thing out? Wow. You could have just done that if you got under the car in the first place. Oh well. h:

What did you do to that thing? I hope it wasn't like that before you started working.

2 bolts from under the car. It was a bitch to wiggle out thats why it has battle scars all up on it. No matter what angle I twisted it at it wouldnt drop down. It finally came out after crushing it and smashing it for hours. The nipples on the top broke before I swiss cheesed it. h:
