VTEC in my GSR

VTEC in my GSR
I just bought a 96 GSR with 55k miles. I have never owned a Acura, let alone one with VTEC but it seems that I hit the rev limiter very soon after hearing/feeling VTEC and I dont know why. Is there something I can do to remedy this?
The tach is broken but it just feels like the limiter is too low.... I feel a strong tug and then smack right into it. Still managed to whip a 2003 Celica GT-S tho haha

uh...you should get the tach replaced. and the tach could also be related to a malfunctioning coil, which will make the car sputter like it was hitting a rev limiter.

Ok, I ordered a new gauge cluster today so I'll be able to read what Im turning now. SO what do I have to do to feel it? It already has a DC header, full Comptech exhaust, and a reburnt chip... Imports are new to me. I sold a 89 Super Coupe which was just a pushrod engine with a supercharger. VTEC and all of this technology is relatively new to me.

Well wherever that VTEC is set I think its too high because I know for a fact that the rev limiter is substantially higher so I dont know whats up with it. :-/
What do you think is a good cam for it without sacrificing driveability. i live in Richmond and it needs to be streetable.
I do know it makes a helluva sleeper. I managed to gain about a carlength on a Altima 3.5SE today. I bet he's pissed haha. I cant help but find fools to try me haha

If you want to stick around and not piss off the moderators, I wouldn't mention street racing anywhere on this site. Just a heads up.
How do you know if the rev limiter is higher if you don't have a working tachometer? I wouldn't be so sure if you don't know for sure.
There are tons of cam options out there. Do a search on this site and you will be bound to find tons of threads about cam choices and testimonials.

for the 411: I dont do much on the street. Dragons Ridge raceway is 10 minutes from my house. The Celica and the Altima were just for fun.
I have riden in my friend Ryan's 01 GSR and his VTEC kicks in noticeably lower and he has noticed the same thing when driving my car as well.
