Cold Air AEM Induction Kit for Honda ITR DC2 1999
Hi all, I am getting a AEM cold air induction kit fitted to my teg and I was wondering if there was anything I could buy that would stop water entering the induction kit and playing havoc with the engine, I have heard that things can be done to prevent this but as yet no one over here that I know seems to know, do you????
PS What sort of power gains can I expect, this is no the V2 cold ait kit and the car is completely standard with 36000 miles.
Cheers, Taylor 3173

I sucked three of those up into my throttle bodie. i got the first one ever sold at my shop when they got released years ago. This prob happened a bit, so they added in a plastic ring inside to stop that from happening, but it did it again!
I say if you have the whole stock wheel liner and the under bumper lineing the filter will be totally covered, you'll be fine. Also i think personally that the type r 3 inch intake is better thatn the V2 but that is totally preference. I have had a c.a.i. for 7 years with no issues. I just dont step on the gas ove huge puddles and avoid what I can, and dont go into flooded areas. Most people do that instinctively any way.
Just my 2 cents.

Cheers, I will have to look into this then, it may not be the idel mod for me as I live in the UK and it rains almost every day of the year.
I am pretty sure that the kit I am getting sits inside the fender housing with the bottom of the fender housing intact so I may not have too much of a problem if that is the case but I have seen mods such as the one featured on
http://www.geocities.com/itr_1220/ that have the bottom removed.
