that sounds a bit high for me. especially with that much mileage. check out edmunds or kbb.com to get a ball park figure. i got my 96 ls for much less than that, it only had 58,000 miles, and it came with 17" bbs rims, neuspeed springs, and a catback exhaust. is it from a private seller or a dealership? if it is a private seller, is this person the orignal owner? does it have a clear title? ask for maintance records. does it have any mods, and if so what kind? usually mods actually lower the price of a vehicle because they are indicative of a car being driven hard. i would ask for paperwork concerning the head, and the reason why it was rebuilt, and what kind of rebuild it was. ie, was it a stock rebuild, or was it rebuilt for a FI application, or did the timing belt break or something catastrophic like that happen to force the rebuild. is the owner a younger or older person? was it turboed? look to see if there is any evidence that the car was run hard or mistreated. if everythng worked out would offer them $5500 or $6000 at the most, but that is me and i am cheap/poor. if they dont go for it, oh well. just keep looking, there are plenty of good deals out there, but you have to keep an eye out for them. good luck

in my opinion i wouldnt buy a car that has aftermarket parts on it already because it prob means that all those miles were hard driven. but i got my 95 gsr with 120k on it for 9k. i paid a little more then normal but i got a car with no problems and VERY well maintained.

yea..around 6000s is a good price to start at. if u dont care too much about standard leather and the front and rear bumper of the 98 id say get an older one. :P u can get a 95 with half the miles
