gsr/itr headers help !!

im lookin to buy some new headers for my 1996 gsr and i was curious if this would fit my car

DC Sports 1996-97 Acura INTEGRA TYPE-R 4-1 CERAMIC RACE HEADER, ONE PIECE (JDM Style, For Off Road Use ONLY, NO CARB E.O. #)

i dont know if these fit and are they better than dc ceramic 4-1 headers for the gsr ...i could use some help thanks!

oh and whats the difference between ceramic and ss headers... why are the ceramic so cheap

teg92 03-08-2005 05:17 PM

i think the Type R header is longer than the GSR header. Someone correct me if im wroung

dubcac 03-08-2005 05:20 PM

It is longer....same length as the LS...and since it is the JDM replica it will have a 2.5" collector.

The cat for the Type R is the same length as the LS. Thus, the header is longer in the collector area. So, it won't directly bolt on if that's what you are saying.

Ceramic is cheaper because it is made of ceramic coated mild steel, looks worse, and doesn't last as long as stainless steel.

SS last longer than ceramic and they look better too

Just get the header thats made for your car. Less headaches that way. What part of CT you from?

like i know obx isnt that great but do u think their cat would b okay? im lookin on ebay for one and i cant really find much..... u kno any good sites ?

teg92 03-08-2005 05:48 PM

magnaflow makes decent cats

PikkaGTR 03-08-2005 08:47 PM

random technolgy makes a decent one
but if you were gonna go for a good header, just stick with the one designed for your car like others on here have recommended

rslsgsr 03-08-2005 10:03 PM

or just buy the header and take it to the muffler shop and let them figure it out. It should only cost around 80 bucks.

my brother had that same header on his 96 gsr with a matching carsound cat and cat back. he dynoed about ~160whp with those mods and a cheapo sri. it sounded nice and pulled hard in the upper rpm range. a word to the wise though, the header hangs kinda low so be careful if you're lowered. my brother bought his header used with a nice size dent on the bottom of one runner.
