Default vafc 2

I just checked on ebay and they are selling apex'i vafc 2's brand new for like $250 + shipping. Do you guys think these ebay distributors can be trusted enough to buy one or are there some details that they might be leaving out? Could I find a VAFC-2 for cheaper or the same price somewhere else and have a guarantee that I won't get ripped? Thanks.

I've got this sitting here & no use for it, due to the fact that i don't have vtec on my new motor. If your interested, make me a resonable offer & it's yours.

I am looking at getting a vafc or vafc 2...can someone tell me what the big differences between the two are? Like what upgrades the vafc 2 has and stuff...thanks.

the main difference is the vafc2 has more adjustable points 12 vs 8 for high and low throttle.. and the vafc2 can be used for I-vtec..

call around for prices.. when I bought mine, I asked a local shop if they would price match (which they did) and I was able to get it that day instead of worrying if it would come in one piece from ebay.. I had to pay taxes, but it would have been the same for shipping..

Ok, I will do that...But am I going to have to get the VAFC tuned on a dyno or at a shop or is it something that is pretty easy to figure out on my own? I have limited tuning experience but I am always looking to learn more. My '94 GSR is only running I/H/E but I am putting ITR cams in soon, so should I get it dyno tuned anyway?...thanks.

well you don't really need it if you only have i/h/e, but once you get the cams you'll get more out of it....you definately have to get it dyno tuned with a wide band so that you can see where you a/f ratio is...

It's not at toy and if you fool around with it to much you can do damage to your engine....

I am just curious. Can you piggyback an aftermarket ECU? I have a Skunk2 ECU that came with the car (not just a chipped ebay ECU or anything. ECU is from Skunk2). My car is running really rich right now and I just ordered a P72 ECU to put in there, but if I wanted to could I override the Skunk2 with a vafc? Right now my vtec engages at 6000 rpm...This post probably makes no sense because I am half asleep but trying to answer the questions I have. Thanks again.

yes you can piggy back it on to the Skunk2 ECU. It doesn't matter what program it is, the vafc2 can change the a/f ratio, by manipulating the map sensor signal...what sucks is it doesn't tune timing

Ok, some other questions....The genius that had my car before me apparently decided to leave a bunch of sensors and plugs unhooked and stuff...Is the plug that goes into the top of the intake manifold the MAP sensor? because that's not even really plugged in properly. You can slide it on, but it won't click to make a solid connection. The plug is broken or something. Is this an issue of great concern? Does an aftermarket ECU like a Skunk2 disable the CEL? Cause I've never had it come on, and from the looks of how some stuff is disconnected I really think it should be...
