Does anyone have any past experience w/ the Apexi GT Header, they run for about 470ish new, 4-2-1 Design, I can get it for cheaper, so whats the word about these headers? Or are DC 4-1 Better for autocrossing??

Apexi is known for really high quality products. I don't know about the gains associated with that particular header but I doubt it is worth the extra money unless you want it to last for a good amount of time. I would imagine the JDM 4-1 header would see better gains and may run cheaper.

 

Yea, so ive heard only good things about the JDM 4-1 header w/ the 2.5 collector. The thing is that I have a test pipe that is 2.25 so i dont want to have anything modified, i pretty much want to bolt on the header directly. Plus it's hard for me to find a Type R header.


I can get the Apexi GT header for under 300, just dont know much about their GT series products.

I have a DC 4-1 Header that i bought used and it has large dings on the bottom, I just want to replace it cuz those dings are BIG!

 

If it isn't leaking from the dings, why replace it? It isn't like anyone but you can see them.

 

In terms of 4-2-1's, the only ones I would consider would be Apex'i, RS*R or Comptech.

Like you mentioned, I would think about a DC JDM 4-1 for a cheap effective header, but if you dont want a 2.5" collector, stick with one of the 3 above.

 

The dent is rather large, so i would think it would effect airflow.

 

How 'bout some pics of the dent? I don't think it would affect airflow THAT much. The stock cat will probably create more backpressure that any dent on a header would.

 

haha exactly why i have a test pipe. dent probably goes in half an inch

 

1/2" dent on a probably 1.5" primary is no good. I would replace it and sell that for what you can.
