Default Ls/vtec

I was woundering could an engine with a 162,xxx miles stand up to a head swap? and how much do a GSR head go for? I hear-600-800 at the most. OH And I did do a search

Wheres my GEN2 Guru's

Sure, it will take the swap... as long as you don't rev over the factory redline. The B18A/B block cannot take the revs nessicary to make power with a VTEC head when they are factory new, much less after 162K miles, the R/S is just too bad (1.54). A good LS/VTEC engine should ideally have fresh pistons and rings, a clean honed bore, a GS-R block girdle, new rods, etc., basically a bottom end rebuild with stronger parts. It's not as easy as "1) pull head A, 2) install head B."

Isn't the factory r/s ratio on a B18C1 1.58? Is that a real big difference?
