Default 98 GSR Floored in 4th at 90 - 100 MPH. Engine Noise Question

I have noticed that when I hit around 90 + MPH and I'm flooring the car in 4th the engine starts making a "different" noise. It is not the VTEC engaging and it doesn't sound bad.... But it is some kind of humming noise and it doesn't sound good either. Car drives perfect. Always fresh oil... New timing belt water pump plugs wires distributer etc.

Any ideas?

Is the noise RPM-dependent or wheel speed dependent?
Low pitch or high? Any pulsing or vibration?

I'm kinda thinking wheel bearings right now...:dunno:
But if I have to blindly guess at this point...are the secondaries opening on time? h:

Not sure about the RPM or Wheel thing.... It is a lower pitch and there is no pulsing or vibration. Car seems to drive fine and it keeps accelerating. It just sounds like the engine starts making an unusual noise once I hit the 90-100 mark and have my foot on the floor. Thanks for the comments

MY 93 LS makes a weird noise flooring it in 4th too. Like a high pitched whine similar to what the reverse gear makes but very very faint. Makes it till 4th tops out at around 110mph. :rick:

I don't have the same whine in my 97 LS that you guys are describing. Does it make that noise in 5th gear at that speed?

This is beginning to sound more like a transmission / gear issue. :eek3:
