Default Catalytic Converter Gaskets

Hello,

I got a code 67 on my 97 Integra GS. I took down the cat to see if there were any holes (there were some breaks in the brick). Anyhow, there were no gaskets on the rear converter flange. That doesn't seem right to me.

So, I went to get some gaskets for the catalytic converter on a 1997 Acura Integra GS, CA smog model if it matters. I was given Felpro 60517 (rear) and 60669 (front donut gasket). Now I can see how 60669 fits, but how does 60517 fit? It's a ring, and from the look of the flange it should be a flat metal gasket with 3 holes for the bolts in a triangle pattern with a hole in the middle for the exhaust. There doesn't seem to be any groove to fit the ring into. All the parts stores keep giving me 60517.

Thanks!

That's the correct gasket for an OEM replacement. Is your catalytic converter OEM or aftermarket? As you can see part #25 is a ring type gasket. It sounds to me like someone installed an aftermarket cat on your car and didn't put a gasket on.
