Default GSR tran

I have a 94LS and I want more power to get to the ground. I have heard of people who are boosting put a LS transmission on so not to peelout. I was wondering if I could do the opposite? Put a GSR transmission on a LS motor. If so does it bult on?

It bolts on. It won't increase actual engine power, the gearing advantage with that trans will give a better uncorrected wheel torque figure granting faster accelleration.

How much of an increase in acceleration could I expect? Would it be worth doing? Do I have to change to Gsr axels or just swap the transmission?

it'll bolt up but driving 70mph you'll be at 5000+ rpms....which isn't nice on gas

GSR Tranny on a LS Engine isn't the same as the gsr tranny on the gsr engine...maybe not 5000 rpm but pretty high up there

I have a GSR tranny and it puts me at about 4200 at 80 mph. I'm still doing great on gas. I had an LS tranny in there for a while and the gears are definitely longer. You will gain more acceleration out of the GSR tranny because you will be able to get through the gears faster.

I expected to loose some gas milage but that doesn't concern me. I don't go over 80 anyways unless I'm fooling around. I would still like to know how much more acceleration and is it worth doing.
