Default Bad paint job?

There are some areas on my car where the paint is chipping pretty badly. I was told when I bought the car that the previous owner had it painted by Macco. Should I just get the car repainted ? Or is there an alternative ?

Seems about right. Shops are supposed to use a more expensive, flexible paint on the plastic parts. If the paint is only chipping on those plastic parts, then that is probably consistent with a cheap paint job.

I would (but I am also on a fixed budget) just get a good shop to try to match the paint, and paint the plastic parts. I would imagine that the paint elsewhere should be fine.
