Default Comptech catback installed

Well for those that didn't know, my exhaust setup is completed (Comptech header/Car-sound cat/Comptech catback). I thought I'd make a post about it because I noticed something out of the ordinary. It was expected that the ECU might run in closed loop at partial throttle.

I was also expecting that the car might run rich and a decrease in gas mileage would follow. I've read numerous threads online about cars running rich with a full aftermarket exhaust setup. After resetting the ECU and taking a trip to the gas station, I've noticed the opposite.

With the stock setup I couldn't even get close to 150 miles to a half a tank. Now with the Comptech setup I hit 160 on a half a tank. Keep in mind that I continuously go to the same gas station and use the same 87 octane (no tune-up was performed on the car). It could be just a freak coincidence or do some people actually notice an increase in mpg with an aftermarket exhaust system. Maybe the OBDII gremlins are just being nice this time around.

I was gonna ask what you were doing putting regular in your car and then I saw your tach. I am hope to one day drop my car off at their place in El Dorado Hills, or wherever it is and get the LSD from them, when I wear out my clutch. How does it sound, is it kind of loud cruising on the freeway?

Your located close to Comptechs facility, I'm envious. Let me know how that LSD turns out if you go through with it. As for the Comptech catback I thought it was going to be loud, but it really isn't at all. Once I hit three thousand rpm it lets out a sweet exhaust note.

I took my grandmother on a highway trip in my car and if it was remotely loud she would have let me know about it. She didn't even notice, and yes her hearing is just as good as mines.

Ok, well I wasn't stating that my Integra gets the best gas mileage in the universe. I'm sure there are alot of Integras out there that do way better on gas. I was stating that I noticed an improvement, that's all. Maybe my teg needs some looking into.
