black smoke when vtec hits?

True that. Sounds like it's running rich, nothing a tuning probably can't fix. I heard it is normal, but I've never had the problem. Especially since I've had a top end cleaning. I'm thinking sometimes it is caused by crap build up in the cat and engine that just gets blown out too, so go figure...

hes burning oil,mine does the same thing my number 1 cylinder has 170cr whil 234 have 205-210ish and mine happens only in vtec.

mine does the same on my 97gsr as well as my supra. i don't think its anything to worry about.
