Default clutch chatter?

Ok, so ever since I accidentally revved my '94 GSR pretty high (about 8800 rpm) a couple months ago, I have been hearing this strange noise. It kind of sounds like a chatter or something. It goes away when the clutch pedal is completely in...Any ideas on what's up? Is this something of great concern right now?

Oh yeah, supposedly, there's an ACT clutch in there right now that was in the car when I bought it, but I can't say for sure.

if it chatters, that is clutch chatter. its pretty hard to gauge the severity just by sound, but i would probably drop the tranny, remove the clutch, inspect, and then decide (more than likely you'll need a new pressure plate & disc)

If it goes away when the clutch pedal is in, it's probably your throwout bearing. It makes a clack-clack-clack noise. If it was clutch chatter, you would feel it when you take off from a light. Aftermarket clutches that have a stronger clamping force than stock chatter sometimes when you take off at a low rpm...especially with a lightweight flywheel.

OT: you know what's odd? you know how integras are notorious for that clutch pedal "squeak"? had it near the end of the LS's motor life, but doesn't do it with the GSR.

not that its bad, just an observation.

Yeah I have the squeek...just too lazy to do anything about it. It's either the clutch pedal linkage, or the arm/throwout bearing.

i knew it wasn't the clutch pedal linkage because it was coming from near the slave cylinder.

Probably the arm that goes to the throwout bearing, or the bearing. Lube it up!

I didn't think a bad throwout bearing would be loud enough to hear from inside the car...Also, I noticed that the noise that I am getting sometimes seems to go away when I am in first gear until I hit about 2000 rpm. My clutch doesn't seem to be slipping at all, so could it really be a bad pressure plate/disc? Or could I just be low on trans fluid?

sorry but i have an accord and when it is cold sometimes my clutch wont exactly grip but "chatter" when i am slipping it. this would vibrate my whole car and only happenes in 1st and sometimes in 2nd.

i also have that squeaking noise...i thought it would be the throwout bearing. oh well, im replacing everything soon.
