I like the japanese style exhaust angled to the side...are there any exhausts that are this style but quiet because I dont want a loud fart-can exhaust.

I have a full cat back Apex N1 on my ls and it is quiet compared to other exhausts. if you ever heard how a Greddy Evo sounds it is quieter than that it is also angled up and to the side. gave me a deep tone without the buzzy fart.

Does anyone know the the purpose of having the exhaust angled to the side? Does it give more hp gains or is it just a new style??? I was just curious because it kinda looks odd to me by having it angled instead of straight out!

As far as exhaust goes, I like my Tanabe quite a bit, but some think its fairly loud (especially alongside headers and intake). I've heard the same of the N1, but they both sound good its not going to sound buzzy.

I like the Comptech setup for all three. A little more expensive than most others but I think it's worth it. If your gonna do it, might as well do it right the first time.

Get the comptech header your gonna pay more but in the long run you wont be sorry I had 3 dc headers crack the comptech is a stronger better made header with excellent mid range pull. makesure you get the tig welded header its the strongest.
and my greddy power extreme exhaust has a nice deep tone and great flow.
and yes the AEM CAI is the way to go .

Actually....the TIG and MIG ones are equally strong. the only difference is that the TIG are polished and have smoother looking welds.

Hi Bernie,

You should go with my setup (see sig); I also have a 99' GSR

I did a full review of the Comptech I/H/E a few months ago; it has been archived here:

https://www.honda-acura.net/forums/s...&threadid=8484

I would recommend the Comptech icebox and 4-2-1 header, but a different exhaust if you want to go angled etc. The Comptech exhaust has a great sound but looks pretty generic. Hope that helps...
