Default Need help with internals!!

I have a 98 GS-R. I just got some money and im looking into redoing my internals. By the summer i want to either turbo or supercharge my car. First i would like to build my motor to handle boost. What componants such as pistons, rods, and other internals would you guys recommend for my 98 GS-R. I was looking on modacar.com and i found a spoon repair kit for 1200$. Is it worth it or no? Also do any other companies sell the rebuild kits? Thanks.

if you plan to go with f/i later on, go with forged pistons and rods. crower, je, wiseco, they're all good companies. and if you have money to burn and want your block to be super strong, look into sleeving.

I agree with snoopy. Invest in some forged pistons with a comp ratio of 8.5:1-9.0:1 and some H-beam forged rods. If you don't want to sleeve the block, try looking at block guards for cylinder wall reinforcement. Don't waste your money on that spoon kit, just buy the pistons, rings, and rods and you will be set for a while.

Wiseco makes awesome pistons, and eagle makes good rods for the price. As for installation price, it's going to cost a bit. It's a pretty labor intensive process.

The price will be pretty steep since you will most likely have to take it to a high performance shop and they gouge.
