Default Stupid suspension question...

I'm looking to lower my friends 95 ls and we were wondering if we would just use lowering springs and use stock shocks, or whether we'll have to buy some new shocks. Anyone use springs without shocks out there? Thanks

u can use ur stock shocks but the ride quality depending on the springs wont be there. expect a more bouncy ride. there will be a big difference in performance if u get aftermarket shocks to go with the springs. and if u just use the springs, ur stock shocks will wear out faster.

that i dont no a friend of mine 2gr84u2004 on this board drives a del sol and he runs skunk 2 coilovers and hes got a nice suspension setup. ull probly be fine for quite a while on ur stock shocks. its my opion that if ur gonna do something to ur car u do it right the 1st time. i have ground control coilovers that im waiting to put on my 01 gsr because i havent gotten my kyb shocks yet. oh yeah and also if u got ground contol coilovers they will only work with certain shocks and not all of them will work with ur stock ones. so make sure those springs are compatable with ur stock shocks b4 u put em on.

Since he has a 95, I doubt the stock shocks would last long. They are probably pretty worn as it is.

If your going to lower the car you might as well do it right the first time and save up for a decent set of shocks. If you want a decent shock I would look into the KYB AGX's.

i'd get some good aftermarkets plus the bolts on the rear struts might have to be cut off, common problem with the integra/civic.
