speedometer wobbles at high speed, like above 60ish.

whats wrong with it? how do I fix it?

on some older honda/acuras, they actually used a speedo cable, not a wire driven speedo. i think your car may have the same, somebody correct me if i am wrong. i know those used to cause wobbling speedos cuz it gets worn out. just a thought.

 

I don't know for sure, but I'd have to agree. When it's cold, I can hear what sounds like a spinning cable behind the instrument cluster. But that's usually associated with the tach, not the speedo.

It is on the older side so it very well could be time for replacement.

hey, d/l your service manual @ http://www.hondahookup.com/manuals/. i looked through it and it seems i was incorrect about the cable. it seems that the vehicle speed sensor is not hooked up to a cable, it is hooked up by a wire. i suggest you d/l it and follow the trouble shooting precedures in chapter 11. you will need a digital multimeter.

btw, i suspect a bad vehicle speed sensor or loose connection.

It's probably your VSS.

 

Is this something I can get to and look at to see if it's bad or worn or dirty?

 

The VSS bolts into the top of the transmission. Download your manual from the link above, it'll show you exactly where it is. I don't know what you can do besides swap in a known good one and see if the wobbling stops.
