Help me run low 14's on my 94' LS!?
94' LS 5spd 80kmiles, I have AEM SRI, 205/40/R17/80H tires, on light alloys
What NA parts do you guys suggest I buy to get me into 14's?!? thanks |
NAs man! Just kidding. I guess I'm just feelin a little goofy this morning.

Cams
|
I know someone with the same situation. His Teggy runs 14s, but he sent both the motor and tranny away somewhere to have the work done. All together he spent 3K each on the tranny and motor.

cams and compression will get you on your way. then tune.
but nitrous would make it far easier. also look into a shorter ratio tranny, an ITR would be your best bet (LSD mmm) but you could go with a 99-00 Si or GS-R tranny as well. |
What's your budget?
You will need your powerband to be located in the upper rpms. The problem with the LS head is that it takes a nose dive after 6000 rpms. Edit: When you put together an engine package, look for parts that will aid top end power |

Nobody stated they had 404's and dual springs. There's more to an engine package then just cams and valve springs if you want to get into the 14's. What about adjustable cam gears, forged pistons, or a port and polish. No budget has been stated remember.
budget/ peak whp? |

budget/ peak whp? he asked how to get into the 14's. you said that an LS head cant make power over 6k. previous to that post, i recommend cams and compression. with 404's and dual valve springs, an LS head makes power over 6k. |
I'm taking it easy. ;)
I didn't say the head "can't" make power past 6000 rpms, in stock form the power nosedives. |
