How does the shift boot come off

Default How does the shift boot come off

I know it probably just pulls off like every other panel but on my integra it seems to be harder then it should be... is there a trick to it.. id rather not break pins.... Anyone ?

You have to remove the center console by unscrewing a bolt beside each seat, two up front and two in the holder under the e-brake. Then it should come off in two pieces. The shift boot unscrews from underneath the piece that is closest to the radio. Hope that helps. Just make sure that you unscrew everything and pull gently as to not break anything.

u sure it seems theres a little plastic panel that the shift boot is connected to that seems to move a bit.. it looks like u can pop it off....

I second this, the center console does need to come out. There is a bracket that the shift boot stretches over and then on each corner there is screws securing the boot to the bottom of the console. If you yank it out and get it out it is because you broke it, then your new bag will be worthless, you'll need a new bracket and in the meantime your bag will sag down and you'll be able to see around it.

yeah i bought a new shift knob and the boot was sagging down so i took out the center console to get underneath it. Its pretty striaght forward once u start tackling it. screws are in weird places like behind the cigarette tray :s
