Hi all,

I used to use Bilstein shocks + Eibach Pro Kit Spring for my 98 GSR (w/ 98 ITR Tranny transplant, CPU Mod., etc.). As a welcome of my new baby, I change it back to original shocks and spring.

Now as he grow up, I want to lower the car by the Eibach Pro Kit Spring on the original shocks in order to save some ride quality but better looking and lower CG for better performance.

My question is, will the original shocks too soft to damp the Eibach Pro Kit? I checked the Pro Kit is suitable to match with original but just want to get some advice from you guys.

I have pro-kits on "stock" shocks...they are not the stock shocks, but they are stock replacements from monroe. they retain the nice ride, and a lil drop to boot.

 

I have the pro kits with koni yellows on my Integra and I decided to do it the right way by installing them together and the ride quality with this combo on full soft is a little stiffer than stock but still comfortable for daily driving. I would save up and buy a better pair of shocks than the stock ones so you wont have to do this again if one of the stock shocks blow.

 

I'd agree with BONE... upgrade your shocks to Koni Yellows or if on a budget, KYB AGXs. An adjustable shock gives you a much wider scope of tuning in terms of matching shock damping to road conditions and driving style.

Also, the stock shocks will probably wear out faster with the Pro-Kit, as they can't properly dampen a spring that is much stiffer than stock. And nearly all lowering springs have to use increased spring rates to make up for the loss of suspension travel.

 

I am thinking of going with the Pro-Kit on my 2000 GS. Is there much camber with this drop?

I had the Sportline on my 5G Accord and the camber was rediculous.

 

I still needed a camber kit for my car when I lowered it with the prokit but each car is different. I only needed the front kit the back was still within spec so I purchased a Omni Power kit it also came with the rear washer kit but didn't need it and so far loving it. But it also depends on what you want my car was -1.6 in the front and could of kept it that way if I set the toe to 0 but would of had to rotate the tires more frequent to save the tires so I opted for the kit so I wouldn't have to deal with that hassle good luck.
