If you have no significant modifications and don't plan to turbo or anything anytime soon, a "stage 1" or "stage 2" is more then plenty. I'd recommend a stock replacement though.

Can someone please (briefly) outline/describe the differences between an OEM clutch, Stage 1, Stage 2, etc......I have a general idea, but I am sure that a description would help out clear things up for all the uninformed (myself included). Thanks.

"stage" is just a flashy catch word. The "stages" are different depending on manufacturer.

I have an exedy sport clutch. I went with this choice over stock because the friction material on the sport clutch is better and OEM (there are little pieces of brass/copper in the compound, and brass cools down alot quicker than brake material).

as for holding pressure unless you plan on running your car more than 300 hp, stock should hold just as tight as any other clutch out there. but the advantage of a sport clutch is that if you ride it, trash it or abuse it, it will be able to handle the stress alot better than the OEM clutch.

the exedy sport clutch isnt much harder than stock, you cant really tell the difference. I got mine off of ebay from clutchcityonline.com

We at Function Motoring sell Action clutch kits, which are also a great product. They have a kit thats like an OEM replacement with a heavy duty pressure plate. We just sold one to bambbrose here on HAN and he is loving it so far. PM me for details and pricing if your interested.
