Go to www.acuraautomotiveparts.org & put in your model & year, since you didn't tell us what it is...

There's pictures of the heater controls in there somewhere. On my '95 there's a cable from the slider lever down to some damper levers behind the stereo. Then there's a second cable from there out to the heater valve just outside the firewall.

I think it's part# twelve on this diagram. If so that would be a cheap fix. I'm not sure of the year and model of your car.

And my guess is you might have to do some farily tedius work under the dash. Nothing too bad, but not a lot of fun IMO.
I guess the main reason I say that is I had to pull out the entire dash to get at my heater once back in the day. I don't think I'll ever really want to do that again.

Get down in the passenger footwell. Work the temperature slider & look for a couple levers moving. Forward of the stereo, I think you can see them if you put your head way down there like you're trying to see the back of the stereo.

Then go out & open the hood. Look for the heater valve on one of the hoses sorta below the fuel filter. Check whether the cable is disconnected or broken out there. On that website, that 2nd cable is shown in the picture of the heater unit, or maybe the heater hoses.
