Default Heat on, Bad Smell

Hello,

My car is fairly mint:

Silver Acura Integra LS 2000:
9,723 miles (garaged mostly)

This winter I've noticed a high odor when I put my heat on. The smell of burnt plastic fills me car....

I'll take my car to Acura tomorrow, but wanted a bit of advice regarding this issue.

Can anyone diagnosis of guess the problem causing the foul plastic odor?

Thanks
Fess

How long has it been since you've turned it on?

no I meant the heater. It's the same as a house heater. you don't use it over the summer and the first time you turn it on in the winter it smells from the accumulation of dust and debre

Guys,

I took my car to Acura. They called the next day an found that the problem was a plastic bag had somehow worked its way up into the vent. Thus causing the burning plastic oder.

The smell will remain until the the plastic has vanished.

NYC is pathetically dirty.......if figures.

Regards
