Default My Integra passed smog!!! Off to the ref. station.

Well guys, it was the catalytic converter. Prior to replacing the cat the numbers were 15mph 61/61 & 25mph 45/46. After replacing the catalytic converter the numbers dropped dramatically 15mph 61/9 & 25mph 45/8. So if anyone thinks it could have been something else, oh well, this was the big cheese. My advise, don't use race fuel unless your on the track and dropped your cat for the day. The lead in race fuel ****s your cat. I did not tell Acura this, but I did some research and the shoe fit. So I guess the cop pulling me over was a good thing. My car would have been due smog next year and I would have run into this problem then and most likely my car would have had more than 80k but since it happened now at under 80k I saved a grand on that alone. I spent about 1/2 in tuning, but $500 saved is $500 earned.

Just curious to why you would run race fuel on a somewhat stock motor.

Well that bit of information sure would have helped in all your problem threads. Nice work.

That is why they don't sell leaded fuel for use on public roads, most of the cars have cats that will get poisoned by lead. I am surprised it did as well as you reprot without a cat

Leaded fuel also ruins your O2 sensors.

Merry Christmas.

Yeah I didn't know any better. I didn't know it mattered until I did some research. By then I had already done all the work...when I was in Tennessee for a visit a while back I went to a gas station and they sell that shit at the pump. The service guy told me it lubricates the engine, burns cleaner and adds more power, so I guess I always wanted try it and was unaware of the consequences. Well now we know. Live and learn, if I knew this would have helped during my previous threads I would have mentioned it, however it dawned on me when I read up on it.

When your drunk you do stupid things...J/K read my above post to answer your question. I guess I wanted to bump the octane up to increase power. It worked by the way, but is not worth the damage it does to the cat. I was lucky and got it replaced, but you others may not be, so if you have not done it yet, don't.
