Default tranny

just wondering if you guys new a site that sells used type r transmissions? i have a 95 coupe with b18c and i want lsd and a new tranny that doesnt grind. also, i had a few questions too. i havea custom t3/t4 turbo kit only running 7 lbs of boost now. but i am completely rebuilding my engine top to bottom. here is a link to what i am getting. its the second to last at the bottom. it will handle 40lbs of boost and redline at 11,000. will the type r tranny be able to shift allright at that high of a redline, and it will bolt up directly, correct? thanks guys

I'd suggest PasswordJDM or looking up Brian Wong.

Yes, it will bolt up.

Yes, it will shift fine at 11,000.

My concern is the 40 pounds of boost you mention. It'd be a good idea to talk to JG Engine Dynamics, I think, about what kind of re-enforced gearbox and LSD you would need for that motor if you're going to want to put down the most HP that it's capable of.

George... do you know this from personal experience?

To the original poster:

If you are going to spend all that time/money prepping the motor, why skimp and get the OE tranny? Sure it will do the job, but for how long.

Like George is reccomending you should look into something more bulletproof IMO.

I'd check out these guys.
