yeah, i get a metal humming noise at about 2700...
everytime i hit 2700 rpm i could hear it and when i go past 2800 rpm it stops...
if i keep my needle at 2700-2800, it is a constand humming noise....
but then again, my car makes so much noise... i learn to accept it...

The A pipe is usually the one that poops out. An OEM replacement will run you $600 whereas you could replace the whole manifold with an aftermarket for less than $300 and get some HP gains from it.
the header bracket (bolts to collector and engine block) can break in half, resulting in the 2 pieces vibrating against each other. this happened to me, and i just removed it - problem solved.
