can someone explain something to me?

hey everyone i always wondered how come rain snow sleet dont get into the engine bay when people have ventilated hoods.....don't flame me for the question......i'm not looking to put a vent hood on my teg.....i was just wondering....

While driving it doesn't of course. But when you're not moving it does drip into the engine bay, at least that's what I've seen.
