exaclty I could go get some plastic and grind it the same as skunk 2 sell if for 300 bucks and call it a "space age composite" but it would really just be garbage

well it would not even be worth the 300
if it ends up damaging your engine components then you'll eventually pay more in the long run

I'm tempted to point out that Buddy Club Spec 3-Plus and Spec 4 cams are really quite inexpensive.
