The Maintanence Req light went off on my 98 GSR today. I bought this used about 6000 miles ago and found out about a reset button under the steering wheel so I turned it off. Does this light just go off after so many miles? This was not the check engine light. Thanks

 

My G/F car does the same thing I reset it and it stayed off for a couple weeks but then it cam back one and its been on ever since

 

It should off every 5000 miles, it normal that it does that because it jsut telling you to change the oil and other maintance stuffs. check your manuel

The maintenance required light is just an idiot light that goes off every 7500 miles. Just reset the light as shown in the owner's manual.
