I got ranked 20th overall. But.......

I only ran 3 out of 6 times due to leaving earlier than expected. I was in an Integra GS automatic, bone stock. And yes it says a yugo beat me, but it isn't just any normal yugo!!! Anyways, and on my first run I completely spun out, almost completeing a 360 uncontrolable spin. So out of two clean runs that was my time. And those mustangs were both SVT cobras.

There was no other cars in my class plus I also fell in the novice class because if my first time ever doing this sort of thing. But in the end it was a blast and highly recommend it to those who think its all about the 1/4 mile!

 

what class were u in? i was in STS, i raced in my 00 honda accord EX....took first place both times i raced...i only finished 2-3 seconds slower than the fast cars out there...about 3-4 seconds behind the evo's...there were 3 evo's, one bonestock, i actually beat his times cuz he drove like a bitch...the other two evo's were BUILT, close to 400hp each...i just bought a 95 integra LS 5 speed to build and use for autocross...it's waiting for a GSR head for an ls/vtec swap right now...then suspension, wheels, jdm front end and interior and paint...gonna be great...be careful tho, autocross is addictive haha

 

I was in GSN. Class G, stock car, novice. I was the only one out there in my class. I got two clean runs and 1 wipe out. So out of 3 runs I took 20/25 overall I don't think is too bad. If you also take into account I only ran half the times I was suppose to.

 

when and where is this held at, what do you need to do to be able to run in it, and whats it like, how do you guys race? one car at a time, or is it set up kinda like rally where one car takes off then they wait like 5 minutes and another takes off or is it more like le mans style racing with whole bunch fo cars at one time

seriously i went down lime creek road 2x's today and i loved it turns are way more fun the str8 line racing, i will always love str8 line racing, but hangin turns faster then normal is awsome , i want to go again...so how do i get involved with this

 

Yeah I agree autocross is awesome. I race my Integra LS in G Stock also. To get involved contact the SCCA or NASA club in you area. Also many clubs put on their own events like here in Michigan the Furrin Group put on bunch of great autocrosses as well as other events. A good place to start looking is www.myautoevents.com

 

To answer someone elses question about the sport itself. There is a course set usually using cones. The course is about 30 seconds up to 2 minutes on a rare occasion. One car goes on the course at a time. You race to see who can set the fastest time on the course. There is a class for every car imaginable. It is fun, safe, and cheap usually costing 15-30 dollars for registration at a regional event. TRY AUTOCROSS it is a great time where you can push you car to the limits with out having to worry about Cops or oncoming traffic.

It cost me 10 bucks as a novice to do 6 runs. It is an experience to also teach you your cars limits. I learned quite a bit when 360'ed out of control . But be ready to work though. If you run you also get help police up the cones at the end, or atlease at our event we had to.

 

kool im going to check into all of that im not going to try to start doing it till i can lower my car alittle and get some front and rear lower tie bars ive learned just how much of a bitch understeer is.... and i need to get my clutch replaced and brakes, i tore those up doing the lime creek shit,

 

actually i would do 1-2 races before doing the upgrade. That way you can see the difference made with the upgrades. I'm planing on getting an autocross setup myself, but the guys at the track told me what I'm telling you.
