Possibly bent valves and damaged pistons. It is really hard to say because some people end up with tons of damage and end up having to completely rebuilt the head and others who have no damage whatsoever. I guess it all really depends on how fast the engine was revving when it broke.

it was revving at about 2500-3000 rpm when it broke...if the head is gone...all i have to do is replace it with a vtec B16A or B18C head and i'll be good as new right?

Yeah, if you plan on doing an LS/VTEC swap. But it isn't as simple as putting a VTEC head on it and firing it up like nothing happened.

that was the plan all along, just didn't plan on having to do it right away...know where i can find a B16A or B18C head? and u say it's not a simple swap...what all does it entail? im new to the whole teg thing...i just got this one yesterday...i've been an accord man before that...i've got an 00 accord ex with a buncha shit done (check the thread for pics)...what would u suggest i do in terms of replacing the head if it is destroyed?

You first will have to remove the head, inspect the pistons and valvetrain.

make sure you didnt ding a piston first. if everything on the bottom end looks fine, get ahold of txhatch on here, he will be selling the head off of his B18C-R soon.

the block is fine, bent 8 valves tho, so that head is gone...i planned on replacing it later anyway, just not this soon. i wanted to finish the accord before i got started on the teg, looks like imma have to handle this first tho.
