Default cams question...

I've got a question about what I should do with my '94 GSR...Recently, I messed up the end of my ITR (intake side) cam and now I have couple options. I possibly have a set of B16 cams out of '99 Civic Si that I can use. So here's my question: Do you think I should try to get my Type R cam welded and fixed if possible, or should i just use one of the B16 cams for the intake side to replace the messed up one and keep the ITR cam on the exhaust side, or should I just put both B16 cams in? Has anyone ever tried this mix and match setup (B16 on the intake side and ITR on the exhaust side)? Is a re-weld even very reliable? My car needs to be reliable but I still want it to be quick, and money is an issue so i don't think getting another ITR or CTR cam is an option. Thanks for any help.

You could mix and match the ITR exhaust with the B16 cam. I don't see why not.

I would not, on the other hand, recommend a weld job. Bad idea.

How much is your price range? Used intake ITR cams off ebay are pretty cheap.

A couple questions...would the cams from a '99 Civic Si be b16,b16a, b16b or what? Cause i wasn't really sure about that. Also, what do you think would happen if i used both b16 cams? The engine in my gsr has been bored to 2.0L, and i have Type R piston and injectors, although i'm not sure how much of a difference it would make. My budget for a ITR cam wouldnt be more than like $100 or $200...Plus, I already have the b16 cams in my possession...

if your engine has been bored to 2.0L then you dont have type r pistons. you could sell the b16 cams and then get the itr cam. how did you mess up the cam in the first place?

I talked to the guy that I bought the car off of and he said that they're not ITR pistons after all, they are just aftermarket pistons similar specs (11:1 compression, same stroke) because of the additional 3 mm bore over stock. I would sell the b16 cams and buy another ITR cam but I just dont have the time to try to sell them and get the new cam..I really need my car up and running again because right now I'm car-less, and with school and work, this has really become a problem...How much do ITR cams go for and where would be the best place to get one besides eBay? The reason my cam is messed up is because some work was done on the car and the cam gear wasn't secured into place with the cam...so the end of the cam where the woodruff key goes in is kinda messed up.
