actually the light doesnt come on every time you need an oil change... it comes on for regular maintenance schedule.... if your first - or another oil change falls on that, its purely coincidental. trust me, im on my 3rd integra and not a single one of them have had this light come on every 3k or 5k etc

so once again.... you're full of shit.

what happens when this guy takes your advice is he goes and changes his oil and his light is still on and he is freakin out cuz his car in his mind still isnt right. so he needlessly changed his oil regardless of what his oil change schedule is.

check yourself, noob.

Did you even read what I said? I said it for check up and oil change. Why do you have to continuely be rude by now saying that i'm "full of shit". This is a public forum, and you have to go and "act a fool". Grow up. I was trying to be helpful and I said nothing wrong. Your comments arn't welcomed.

I believe that the maint reqd light does come on at 7000 or 7500 mile intervals which is the recommended interval between oil changes for "normal driving" conditions. However conventional wisdom is to change it every 3000 miles. If I recall correctly, it does say something about oil changes in the manual where it talks about the button.

My take - a bit to trigger happy on the BS card. Lighten up.

Just read the manual and confirmed what I just said. After 6000 miles the maint light flashes for a couple seconds and after 7500 it stays on.

Manual says that the light is for "scheduled maintenance" and if you look at their table of scheduled maintenance, the oil change interval for "Normal driving" is 7500 miles. Of course depending on the mileage inteval, you will have other maintenence items to be addressed as well.

In short, according to the manual the interval of the maintenence light coincides with the recommended interval for oil changes.

For Christ's sake, people! :a:
Do we really need to fight over the process of resetting a simple light?!

I swear, this kind of bullshit is what sucks the joy out of this scene.

If any new threads pop up that continue this drama, warnings WILL be issued to all involved. No exceptions. :a:
