Default Check engine light came on.

And I have no clue what to check in the engine :/
I just checked all the fluids and oil so far and they seem good.

The light came up at 89250 miles. Could it be a pre-warning for the timing belt or to change the air filter or gas filter?

Is it the maintenance required light or the check engine light (CEL). The maintenance light just gets set at a specific mileage interval and it doesn't mean anything other than it might be time to do an oil change. The check engine light is typically an emmissions related code like a faulty O2 sensor or something. If it is the CEL, you should be able to get the fault code to determine the exact cause of the problem.

YOu need to look under the dash by the passengerside and look for a green plug that has 2 wires. The plug is just hanging out not pluged into anything. What you need to do is jump those 2 wires with a paper clip or something. Turn your key to the ON setting on the ignition. Look at the CEL light and watch it flash. Hard long flash are 10's short flash are ones. So if you get 3 long, 1 short your code number is 31. After you get the code number you need to www.google.com your code and see what it is. Goodluck

As for the person who posted #3 you need to unplug the batt and replug it inorder for your CEL to go away. But it should have reset on it's own. Try to see if your getting another code.
