Don't remove it. main brake line runs through it.

When the ABS isn't working the brakes revert to normal (non ABS) operation. Therefore, there is no need to remove it. I have the same vehicle and the ABS is not working due to a faulty rear left wheel speed sensor. Costs too much for me to replace it unless I can get a used one.

How can one disable ABS from working at all? On my 96 LS its intermittent. Sometime it works and i can feel the ABS at speed of 20kmh to 30kmh... and after sometimes it stops working and ABS light comes on. And about 45 min of driving, i can hear the ABS pressurising sound atleast twice...

I have broken hand-brake cable from rear right brake caliper...could this be anyof problem?

Have you tried replacing the ABS motor? And yes, having a broken hand-brake cable will indeed cause a problem with the ABS unit.

I have not yet tried replacing ABS Motor. Acutally, the hand-brake cable is not broken but the caliper's nut that holds the cable in place is broken. The cable is hanging loose. Thaks for your help uoboarder...
